In the world of Chinese music there are many great female singers but only a few have risen to the level of huge popularity. Their voices have blown us away over the many decades. 1. Teresa Teng
 
Teresa Teng (or Deng Lijun) was known for her folk songs and romantic ballads. Her songs are very popular in East Asia and Northeast Asia. It is often said, “Wherever there are Chinese people, the songs of Teresa Teng can be heard.”  Her famous songs include “When Will You Return?” and “The Moon Represents My Heart”.
2. Faye Wong
Faye Wong (or Wang Fei in Chinese) is usually hailed as a diva (Heavenly Queen). She is very popular in Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. Wong has gained a reputation for her “coolness”. In 2000 she was recognised by Guinness World Records as the Best Selling Canto-Pop Female.
 
3. Na Ying
Na Ying  is a Chinese vocalist. She is considered as one of the best present-day female singers in Mainland China, having sold more than 10 million albums. She is also well known for her buoyant and forthright personality.
4. Anita Mui
Anita Mui (also named Mei Yanfang) was a famous Hong Kong singer. She was generally regarded as a Cantopop diva. Mui was dubbed the “Madonna of Asia ” by westerners. She was especially famed for her outrageous costumes and high-power performances in combination with contralto vocals, which are rare in female artists.
 
5. A Mei
A-Mei (Zhang Huimei) made her debut in 1996 in music world. She is called a diva of the Mandarin pop music scene and the “Pride of Taiwan”. She is extremely popular within Mandarin-speaking world. She received Favorite Music Artist Award by MTV Asia and Most Popular Female Singer by China Central Television in 2004.
6. Li Yuchun
Li Yuchun (Chris Lee) won an instant fame when she won the nationwide singing contest Super Girl in 2005. She was dubbed “Asia’s Hero” by Time Magazine. She has released 6 albums with an incredible 47 No.1 singles. Li is extremely popular among Chinese young generations.
7. Meng Tingwei
 Meng Tingwei is best known for her sweet voice and melancholy songs. She won her fame in early 1990s.With lovely voice and elegant face, Meng is dubbed “Moon Princess” by her fans.
8. Coco Lee
 
Coco Lee (Li Wen) is a famous singer. She was once named one of Taiwan’s best artists. She performed the Best Original Song nominated, “A Love Before Time” (from the movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) at the Oscars. Coco enjoys great popularity in Asia.
9. Stefanie Sun
Stefanie Sun (Sun Yanzi) is a famous pop singer. Debuting in 2000 under Warner Music Taiwan, she became an overnight sensation as her self-titled debut album became a best-seller in Asia. She has sold over 30 million copies of her albums during the span of her career thus far.
10. Gigi Leung
Gigi Leung is a very popular Hong Kong singer. She is recognized not only as a Cantopop/Mandopop singer, but as a songwriter and lyricist as well.  She has more than a dozen albums to her name.
